Valentines Day

Is it a good idea to get married on Valentines Day?

Opinions differ but let’s think through it and enumerate a few of the pros and cons:

Pros

There is no day more romantic in the calendar than this day

You probably won’t forget your anniversary date

Heading off to celebrate your anniversary in the middle of February when it’s winter seems like a great idea

Cons

Statistically it doesn't bode well for couples to marry on this day

It seems a little contrived to plan a wedding on Valentines day

Unless you choose a warm weather destination, you might have weather conflicts for people to show up

Ok - so conclusively, I would say look for another date other than Valentines day. Best to choose a date by the day of the week and the month of the year, the climate, the venue, your guests convenience and of course the availability of your chosen Wedding officiant. Couples are so busy choosing the decor and the DJ, that they forget the important fact- your wedding ceremony is the defining moment in your festivity. What is said, how it’s said and who says it- key elements to making you and your guests feel that the party got started the right way. A touch of humor, a lot of emotion, some tears, lots of honesty, tremendous fun - make up the elements I look for when I create a wedding ceremony.

As a non denominational, professionally ordained wedding minister, I will write your love story just the way you want it. Together we find the descriptions to include, we edit, we can rehearse and on the day of, we get it just right.

I’d love to hear from you. Please call or email me for a free consultation.
